Whole Wheat Honey Bread Recipe

Honey gives this wheat bread a natural sweetness that’s welcome at any meal and any time of the day. The wheat bread setting is used on the bread machine and you can either make it with 100% whole wheat flour or blend it with bread flour.

Make sure your bread machine can bake 100% whole wheat. If not, go with the blended flour recipe and the wheat bread setting. It’s a fact that some bread machines simply can’t handle a 100% wheat bread recipe.

INGREDIENTS:
 1 1/8 cup water
 3 cups whole wheat flour
 1.50 tsp salt

 1.50 tbsp shortening
 1.50 tsp active dry yeast

This dough came out really wet during the kneading process – i had to add close to 1/4 of a cup of flour to get it looking right. No, this is not an overly humid day, and i measured the original cups of flour properly :). Turned out ok after that though….
