Steakhouse Wheat Bread Recipe

This is a hearty and robust bread recipe that goes great with beef or pork. It’s actually a blend of wheat flour and bread flour to give it a nice rise and chewy texture. It’s also great for French toast in the morning or simply toasted and buttered.

You’ll use the wheat bread setting on your bread machine or you could use the dough setting and finish it in the oven.

INGREDIENTS:
 0.75 cup warm water
 1 tbsp butter, softened
 0.25 cup honey
 0.50 tsp salt
 1 tsp instant coffee granules
 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
 1 tbsp white sugar
 1 cup bread flour
 1 cup whole wheat flour
 1.25 tsp bread machine yeast
DIRECTIONS:

Place the warm water, butter, honey, salt, coffee, cocoa, sugar, bread flour, whole wheat flour, and bread machine yeast in the pan of a bread machine in the order listed.

Put on regular or basic cycle with light crust.
