The Sugar Cookies is as old as civilization itself and has been around for thousands of years. It’s a simple recipe and the cookie dough is easy to make in the bread machine. You can use the cookie dough setting if your machine has one or use the pasta or pizza dough setting. The standard dough setting has a rising cycle which is not needed for this recipe but if that’s all you have, remove the dough after the kneading cycle and before the rising cycle begins.
These cookies are a family favorite for any time of day, school lunches or an easy to make dessert. They go great with coffee, tea or milk.
Add ingredients to bread pan in order indicated and select pasta dough cycle.
When done, roll dough into 1 inch balls and roll around in sugar on the plate.
Place dough balls on a greased baking sheet using either a sprayable oil or smear with vegetable oil and wipe lightly.
Bake at 375° F./190° C. for 10 to 12 minutes and let them cool on the sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring to a wire rack for final cooling.
